slack used to be great, but like many software projects, as more time passes they feel the need to keep adding features without ascertaining if the majority of users even want them. one of the most annoying new features is the 'select and paste url to create link'. many people, including myself, select text to overwrite it and i do this all the time, and i often do it to overwrite it with a url. and i literally never want to retain the text i am selecting to overwrite when i do this.
